The Holmes boys are back and more stylish than ever!
Sherlock does not seem too pleased with the fact that someone is taking away John’s attention.
Mrs. Hudson returns, but she does not look too enthused with the current situation.
Toby Jones joins the cast as Culverton Smith. He’s set as the villain tormenting Sherlock and John across London. Culverton appears in the original Doyle story, “The Dying Detective,” in which the character is tricked into believing Sherlock is on his death bed.
“Culverton” is one of the three key words Moffatt revealed at San Diego Comic Con this year. The other two were “Thatcher” and “Sherrinford.” Thatchers links to the first episode title, “The Six Thatchers.” This title calls another story up from the Doyle canon, “The Six Napoleons.”
What could case BT198255D be? D-Notice dates back to an old term used by MI-5 to prevent public broadcast of items that could be a risk to national security. Odds are these are papers relating to Holmes’ banishment from HRH’s land.
And here is one great close up of Watson for good measure. Thank goodness that mustache is gone.
Sherlock‘s return will not include Moriarty, but his influence across the criminal network echoes in Holmes’ mind. In the teaser trailer Holmes is brought back from purgatory to deal with whatever new criminal mastermind is terrorizing London.
