Fans worldwide rejoiced the other day when fansite, Sherlockology, announced the first official Sherlock convention.

Sherlocked is set to be a three-day event at an unconfirmed date later this year and will be organised by Massive Events in association with Hartswoods Film and Showmaster Ltd – the team behind the popular London Film and Comic Con. While it is yet to be stated exactly where the convention is to take place, it will be within the U.K. However, for overseas fans, there are definite plans to move the convention to Europe and the USA.

Sue Vertue, the producer of the beloved series, told Sherlockology: “We’re very excited to be announcing our first official Sherlock convention for later in the year, aptly named Sherlocked. Massive Events have been pestering me for ages to get a date for this in the schedule but we wanted to make sure that we had the time and energy to make it a great, high quality and fun event, and now we have! Watch this space.”

The convention is set to feature autograph sessions, cast and crew talks and photo sessions with the star guests sure to attend. At a recent unofficial convention run by Starfury Conventions, Sherlock Holmes himself, Benedict Cumberbatch, made an appearance. So, Sherlocked is bound to have a strong line-up.

If you are interested (and if you’re reading this article, the chances lean that way!) then you can sign up for the email alert service on the event’s official website.

With the show as unanimously popular as it is, any fan wishing to go had better stay on top of information as it seems that most of the world is well and truly “Sherlocked.”
