The brand new drama series Dates has acquired the talented actors Andrew Scott (Sherlock) and Katie McGrath (Merlin)!

The star-studded new series Dates has been described as, “Surprising, awkward [and] sexy as hell.” It comes from Skins creator Brian Elsley, and follows a series of couples, and is all about the psychology of dating and relationships.

The cast already boasts actors like Greg McHugh (Fresh Meat), Oona Chaplin (Game of Thrones), Sheridan Smith (Mrs. Biggs) and Gemma Chan (Secret Diary of a Call Girl), and now Entertainment.IE can report that the Channel 4 series has added two new actors to its roster.

Andrew Scott is probably best known as the mysterious and enigmatic Moriarty on Sherlock, while Katie McGrath’s claim to fame was playing Morgana on BBC’s Merlin.

Dates is set to premiere in the summer of 2013, and is currently filming in London.

McGrath fans might also be interested to learn that the actress has also recently joined the cast of NBC’s new drama series Dracula, where she will be playing a stunning socialite with a penchant for gossip. The series also stars The Tudors‘ Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, and is set in Victorian-era London.
