Fault in Our Stars’ actress Shailene Woodley has revealed that she would love to be in a superhero movie, but only if it’s done by Marvel.

In a recent interview with MTV, Woodley says that despite her love for independent films, she actually loves the experience of going to the theater to see a massive superhero film. The kicker is, apparently she only wants to do it if it’s Marvel. Watch the interview with the Divergent star below:

Considering Woodley’s character was cut from The Amazing Spider-Man 2, it’s interesting how she mentions that she only wants to do a superhero movie if Marvel (or maybe Fox) was behind the film. Of course, Sony owns the Spider-Man franchise, so is this a sly way to say that she isn’t interested in coming back to play Mary Jane in Amazing Spider-Man 3?

Woodley’s next film, Insurgent, is fairly big even if it isn’t a superhero film. The first teaser trailer for the film looked like something we’d see from a superhero blockbuster, which left some fans wondering what the Divergent sequel was going to be like when it hits theaters March 20, 2015.

We think Woodley would fit right in with a big superhero movie cast, and while we did hope she’d be back for Mary Jane in Amazing Spider-Man 3, it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen. Maybe Marvel will take notice of her interest in being in one of their films and snatch her up after she’s finished with the Divergent franchise.

Do you think Shailene Woodley was giving Sony a little bit of a dig for cutting her character from Amazing Spider-Man 2? Would she be a good fit for one of Marvel’s upcoming films?
