She did it! Actress Shailene Woodley, who will play Hazel Grace in The Fault in Our Stars movie, has cut her lengthy hair in preparation for the role.

Woodley shared a photo of her new hair via Tumblr and is pictured below:

Over the past week, Woodley and The Fault in Our Stars author John Green launched a social media campaign encouraging fans to cut their hair and donate it to the organization Children With Hair Loss. The pair asked those who participated to share a picture with the hashtag #HairForHazel. On Friday morning we shared 15 photos depicting women who decided to make the bold move.

Woodley admitted in her inaugural Tumblr post earlier this week that cutting her hair – especially when it was already at such a long length – was a difficult decision and idea to accept. “I think there is something so exceptionally admirable about one’s commitment to allowing their face to shine without hair blocking it,” she wrote. “It’s all about balance I suppose. About knowing what’s right for you on your own personal journey. There was a time when growing my hair out symbolized something for me, but the power of sharing that choice, sharing the ability to have long hair with someone feels far more powerful right now.”

The Fault in Our Stars movie begins filming at the end of August. It will co-star Ansel Elgort as Augustus Waters, Laura Dern as Hazel’s mother, and Sam Trammell as Hazel’s dad.
