The Shadowhunters cast and crew have been releasing images from the set over the last few months, but today we got our first official look at the adaptation of Cassandra Clare’s Mortal Instruments series.
The series follows Clary Fray as she discovers that she is not a normal human but part nephilim. This discovery leads Clary on a search for the truth about her past. Along the way Clary is introduced to the world of the Shadowhunters which coexists with our own. Clary faces many challenges including learning to protect herself, dealing with the interest of two guys, and finally discovering who she truly is.
EW released several images from the first few episodes which have already been filmed. The most interesting image is of Clary and Jace entering the City of Bones, a scene from episode two. As readers of the books know, the Silent Brothers reside in the City of Bones and play an important role in the world of the Shadowhunters. The picture gives us a lot of detail regarding the set of the City of Bones and so far we like what we see. Each archway is decorated with skulls while the candelabra is made from spines, giving off the perfect creepy vibe for the City of Bones.
The other images include Clary, Jace, Isabelle and Alec armed with seraph blades and Magnus Bane’s party. The more images we see the more excited we are for Shadowhunters to air. The sets look fantastic, especially the institute. There have been several images from the institute released and it has just the right amount of old world charm and magic.
