Sex Education is headed back to Netflix for a second season, and we finally have our first look at what is to come in the show in the new season two trailer.

Netflix’s Sex Education released its first season in January of 2019, and it surprised so many of us with how much people loved the show.

Obviously, the series had a huge advantage to it with Gillian Anderson in the cast, but the show’s portrayal of young people navigating the choppy waters of romance, identity, and sexuality is something everyone can relate to. And though it wasn’t a perfect show, it managed to depict that journey in a really authentic way.

Season one left us in a pretty open-ended place, so it wasn’t a shock to hear that Netflix renewed Sex Education for a second season. The show pulled in huge numbers and had everyone talking, and we’re so excited to see what is to come in season two.

Netflix has officially released the new season trailer, and it looks like big changes are ahead for Otis and the gang. Take a peek at the new trailer below.

While the trailer is full of a lot of growth from the characters and some exciting new relationships, we don’t get a ton in regards to the season’s plot. So what specifically can we expect in season two of Sex Education? The official Netflix synopsis had this to say:

As a late bloomer Otis must master his newly discovered sexual urges in order to progress with his girlfriend Ola whilst also dealing with his now strained relationship with Maeve. Meanwhile, Moordale Secondary is in the throes of a chlamydia outbreak, highlighting the need for better sex education at the school and new kids come to town who will challenge the status quo.

Happily, we won’t have to wait too long to check back in with Otis and his friends. Season 2 of Sex Education premieres on Netflix on January 17.
