All Harry Potter fans have been hoping that J.K. Rowling will write a story about the Marauders. While that still seems unlikely, thankfully a new fan-made film is on the way.

The team that created the excellent short film “The Greater Good” looking at the relationship between Dumbledore and Grindelwald have released a trailer for “Severus Snape and the Marauders,” a movie depicting the relationship between James and Severus.

“Set in 1978 just after Harry Potter’s father James graduates from Hogwarts, he and his friends Sirius Black, Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew celebrate at a bar, contemplating their place in a war they are to soon become a part of,” reads the film’s synopsis. “When Severus Snape enters the same bar, James Potter decides to do something about Snape once and for all.”

The filmmakers did an excellent job with this movie’s trailer and special effects. If “The Greater Good” is any indication of the quality these guys are going for, “Severus Snape and the Marauders” should be another excellent film.

The team tells Hypable their goal is to have the film out by the end of the year. While you wait, check out “The Greater Good” below. It’s received 2.8 million views on YouTube to date!

Speaking of Wizarding World stories set before the events of Harry Potter, Rowling is currently working on two: The first is the new film series Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them starring Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander. The second is the Harry Potter stage play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child which we should be hearing more details about later this month.
