Deadline has learned that former Misfits star Joseph Gilgun (who played Rudy) has landed a key role in the AMC drama. He’ll play Proinsias Cassidy, a 100-year-old Irish vampire who joins main character Jesse Custer on his cross-country trek to — quite literally — find God.

Jesse is a preacher from Texas, who is accidentally possessed by a heavenly being named Genesis, and gains the ability to make people do his bidding.

With the “the most wild-ass, bestest bro you’d ever want to meet” as well as Jesse’s ex-girlfriend Tulip O’Hare (Ruth Negga), we’ve got a kickass trio ready to face hell on earth together.
