It’s important for ABC and the Academy Awards to make people outside of Hollywood as aware as possible of Seth MacFarlane before his primetime debut later this month.

MacFarlane’s work always takes place behind the scenes; he voices characters he created in Family Guy, his new movie Ted, and everywhere else he puts his stamp of genius.

In a new Academy Awards promo released today, we see MacFarlane patched into a clip from a James Bond film during the Pierce Brosnan era. In it, Bond asks for a martini, “shaken, not stirred,” to which MacFarlane points out that no one ever gets their martini stirred.

This is another way to get audience’s ready for MacFarlane’s face and his style.

The Oscar host’s delivery is the typical type of humor you’d find on Family Guy, and it’s clear he’ll be bringing this sense of humor to the 85th Academy Awards on February 24.

This week has been a busy one for Oscar announcements. This morning we learned MacFarlane’s movie character Ted and actor Mark Wahlberg will reunite on stage at the event. We also learned Barbara Streisand will perform for the first time since the ’70s, and the event will host a movie musicals tribute featuring Dreamgirls, Les Miserables, and Chicago. Speaking of music and Ted, Norah Jones will be performing a song from the hit film.
