Staff picks

Anna: The clear standout for me this month is Total War: Rome II. I’ve been hooked on Total War games ever since my history-obsessed brother introduced them to me about 10 years ago, and Rome remains my favourite.

I’m really interested to see if Rome II can live up to my expectations. If it does, given the addictiveness of the gameplay, it’ll undoubtedly be my game of choice for the foreseeable future.

Mitchel: Anyone who follows me on any of my podcasts (related: Poké Chat) knows that I’m a BIG Kingdom Hearts fan. Unfortunately, the demo I played of the HD remake of KH I at SDCC 2013 had very bad camera issues. However, once a rabid fan, always a rabid fan…

I know it’ll be fun to play around in the new GTA, but I won’t be playing the new Amnesia, under direct threat of nightmares.
