ABC has released what may very well be your last look at Selfie: see the images from episodes 8 and 9, which might never be shown on TV.

We recently learned that we had to say goodbye to Selfie, much to our regret. A few weeks back ABC chose to cancel its new sitcom following low ratings, and has since decided to pull the remaining five episodes from the schedule.

Seven out of 13 produced episodes have aired; Selfie season 1, episode 8, “Traumatic Party Stress Disorder,” was scheduled to air this Tuesday, but ABC will instead be showing Shark Tank repeats.

It’s not impossible that we’ll eventually get the chance to watch the final five episodes. They’re likely more or less finished, and while some effects and voice-overs will not be complete, the fans’ overwhelming response to the cancellation news might prompt the network to release what they have.

A week ago, series creator Emily Kapnek shared her hopes that ABC will eventually share the episodes with us:

But there are no guarantees. The show has been pulled; ABC has no obligation to give us the scrapped episodes, and it’s not like they’d benefit financially.

So let’s enjoy what may very well be our last look at Selfie. Promotional images have been released from episode 8 and episode 9 (titled “Follow Through”), and we’re sure the actual episodes would have been fantastic:

‘Selfie’ season 1, episode 8, ‘Traumatic Party Stress Disorder’

In this episode, Henry (John Cho) would have celebrated his 40th birthday.

“Henry requests that Eliza find him a meaningful gift,” the press release reads, “but when she buys him tickets to see his favorite band, it creates tension between Henry and Julia, the woman he’s seeing.”

Although Allison Miller was scheduled for a multi-episode arc, she was not listed as a guest star for the following episode. However, we doubt Henry and Julia would break up so fast.

Especially since Eliza had her own relationship drama to deal with.

‘Selfie’ season 1, episode 9, ‘Follow Through’

This episode would have been more Eliza (Karen Gillan) centric.

The synopsis reads, “Eliza’s effort to ‘follow through’ on a work idea impacts her relationship with Freddy. Henry rejects an admirer, leading to unexpected consequences.”

Looks like Eliza was all set to meet Freddy’s parents, huh? (Although that’s a very young mother!)

On Page 3: New posters (too little too late)

To add insult to injury, a new set of promotional images featuring the show’s cast have also recently been released:

We love these posters, which add a classic My Fair Lady touch.

Selfie could have been so good, if it had been allowed a full season. Hopefully we’ll get to see the final five episodes at some point, though of course they probably won’t be able to wrap up any of the storylines.
