Excited for ABC’s new sitcom Selfie? So are we! Watch a video interview with Karen Gillan and John Cho to learn more about the show.

Tomorrow night, we get to see Karen Gillan and John Cho in action as Eliza and Henry, an unlikely duo joined when Eliza asks Henry to help her re-brand herself after a social media scandal.

The show will offer a humorous look at the world of selfie-taking and instagramming, both embracing the practice and offering some constructive criticism. After all, Eliza needs re-branding for a reason — all her social media activities are negatively impacting her real life.

In a new video interview released by ABC, main stars Cho and Gillan sit down to discuss their new series.

The presenter comments on the controversial title, admitting that when he first heard it, he thought, “There’s no way I’m gonna watch a show called ‘Selfie.'”

But of course that is exactly how main character Henry would feel. “If you’re not a fan of the title, there’s someone who’s not a fan of the title on the show,” Cho points out.

“But yeah, it’s a polarizing word,” he admits. “But I think ‘Selfie’ […] it can be someone who’s a narcissist, but it can also be a way into dealing with ‘selfhood.'”

Gillan is asked if she’d be friends with a person like Eliza in real life. She admits that they’d probably just be Facebook friends.

Finally they address Henry’s casting, as the show was originally looking for an older, British man. Well, we’re glad they decided to go with Cho because (as he proves in the interview), he’s hilarious! And his attitude toward social media fits perfectly with his character.

Selfie premieres tomorrow night at 8/7c on ABC. The pilot is available to watch on Hulu, but we advise you to tune in live as well, to boost the ratings!
