Seinfeld aired from July 5, 1989 to May 14, 1998 and comprised a whopping 180 episodes in total. The show starred Jerry Seinfeld as a fictionalised version of himself, and depicted his life in New York with friends George Costanza (Jason Alexander), Elaine Benes (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), and Cosmo Kramer (Michael Richards). Seinfeld was created by Seinfeld himself and Larry David (Curb Your Enthusiasm).

Seinfeld has been described as a show about nothing, and in many ways it was. But somehow, that worked for fans and critics around the world. Seinfeld took home Emmy awards, Golden Globe awards, and Screen Actors Guild awards. It frequently tops lists of the best TV shows of all time, and it came in as #2 on the Writers Guild of America’s list of Best Written TV Series of All Time (the #1 spot was taken by The Sopranos).

25 years later, what are the cast up to? Jerry Seinfeld may have been the star of the show, but Julia Louis-Dreyfus has become the big star. After a few slow post-Seinfeld years, Louis-Dreyfus found success on The New Adventures of Old Christine (for which she won an Emmy), and in her current starring role on HBO’s Veep (which has earned her two Emmys – so far). Jason Alexander and Michael Richards can still be regularly spotted on TV in comedic roles, while Jerry Seinfeld is probably busy somewhere celebrating the Seinfeld 25th anniversary by rolling around in his millions of dollars.
