Universal’s The Secret Life of Pets 2 has just added three big names to its cast.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, actors Harrison Ford and Tiffany Haddish have both signed on to join the cast of the highly anticipated sequel to 2016 animated family comedy, The Secret Life of Pets.

Both Ford and Haddish will lend their voices to the cast of the film, though it’s unclear as of right now who they’ll be playing.

The gig marks a first for Ford, specifically as it’ll be the Star Wars veteran’s first ever animated feature credit.

The actors will be joining fellow actors Kevin Hart and Jenny Slate, both of who, have officially signed on to reprise their roles from the first installment of Universal and Illumination’s joint project.

Director Chris Renaud is also coming back to helm the sequel. He’ll be joined behind the camera by returning scriptwriter Bryan Lynch.

Secret Life of Pets 2 may be bringing some key players back, but there’s one actor who won’t be returning to reprise his role.

According to Collider, actor Patton Oswalt will officially be taking over the role of Max, originally voiced by comedian Louis C.K.

C.K.’s recasting likely won’t come as a big surprise to those who’ve been following the sexual misconduct allegations sweeping across Hollywood over the past few months.

The veteran comedian was one of many who was accused of sexual harassment last year, and later confessed to the accusations.

Released in 2016, the original film centered on a dog named Max and his new roommate Duke (Eric Stonestreet) who suddenly find themselves displaced in the Big Apple. Max and Duke must figure out how to work together to get back home to their owner, all while trying to avoid being captured and sent to the pound.

Other actors who lent their voice to the original film include Ellie Kemper, Albert Brooks, Lake Bell, Dana Carvey, Hannibal Buress, and Bobby Moynihan.

It’s unclear whether anyone other than Slate and Hart will return to join newcomers Ford and Haddish, but we’ll be curious to find out how the studio rounds out the cast as the sequel moves further and further into production.

The Secret Life of Pets 2 is slated to hit theaters on July 13, 2019.
