Audiences were swept up in the first season of the epic adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s novel. Whether or not you had read the source material, the story told in the show was engaging and was often able to hit close enough to home to our current political climate that gave the story an extra dose of poignancy.

However, the first season essentially covered the content found in Atwood’s novel, so fans of the book have been incredibly curious to see what was in store for us upon our return to Gilead. With some major diversions from the original book, the show set itself up nicely for a second season.

While this isn’t the first teaser we’ve received for season 2, the latest trailer gives us a good idea of what’s to come in the sophomore outing for The Handmaid’s Tale. In short? It seems like season 2 is the season where people really start fighting back against Gilead.

As with the show’s first season, it also looks like season 2 will give us some pre-Gilead flashbacks to show life before the red dresses. While last season focused a great deal on Offred, Moira, and their lives, the trailer shows us a quick glimpse of Alexis Bledel’s character, Ofglen, before Gilead took over. Bledel’s portrayal of Ofglen was hugely powerful last season, and we can’t wait to learn more about her life before she first met Offred.
