Sebastian Stan has lined up his next big project, teaming up with Jessica Chastain and Lupita Nyong’o in the spy thriller 355.

Most recently, you might know Sebastian Stan best for his work as Bucky Barnes, aka the Winter Soldier in the MCU, but he’s just lined up a new, non-Marvel project that has got us pretty excited. It was announced that Stan will be joining the cast of the new spy thriller 355.

Stan joins the cast of Jessica Chastain, Lupita Nyong’o, Fan Bingbing, and Penelope Cruz. As Variety reports, Assassination of Gianni Versace actor Edgar Ramirez has also been announced as a new addition to the cast.

355 is an exciting project for Sebastian Stan to join, and an even more exciting film for the spy genre as a whole. Chastain, Nyong’o, Cruz, and Fan all play international spies that must join together, work through any issues of mistrust and conflict, and stop an event that could throw the world into complete chaos.

Ultimately, the women become friends and trusted colleagues and form a new faction together called, you guessed it, 355. Variety explains that the name’s inspiration comes from the first female spy in the American revolutionary war.

The spy genre is one primarily filled with stories centering on straight, white men, so seeing a film led by a racially diverse cast of women (where it seems actors like Sebastian Stan and Edgar Ramirez are being cast as supporting players, not main characters) is a truly exciting step forward. Additionally, the script for 355 was written by a woman, Smash writer Theresa Rebeck.

The details of the characters, as well as the characters of Sebastian Stan and Edgar Ramirez, haven’t been announced yet. However, with these amazing women helming the film and awesome actors like Stan joining in the ranks, 355 is shaping up to be one you just can’t miss.

Principal photography for the movie begins on July 8 in Paris, but we don’t have a premiere date for the film just yet. We’ll keep you posted as more news breaks.
