Wynonna Earp enters its third season in high form. Emily Andras previews what fans can expect at SDCC.

The love emanating for Wynonna Earp from every single person involved with the series is tangible.

It all comes from the top, as indeed several cast members confirmed in the annual press room at San Diego Comic-Con 2018.

Here is our interview with showrunner Emily Andras, where she talks about how season 3 is different from previous seasons, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the ‘Wyndolliday’ OT3, and what makes the Earp fandom so special:

Speaking about how season 3 will be different from previous seasons, Andras describes it as a “free runway” compared to season 2. “We have to hit the ground running.”

Reflecting on the second season, she says, “Season 2 is such a weird time to have a pregnancy on the show […] but it actually kind of grounded the series in a weird way.”

We also ask Andras about the possibility of flipping the central love triangle of Wynonna, Dolls and Doc into an ‘OT3.’ And Andras doesn’t totally rule out the possibility!

“Wow! I don’t know if we’re that type of show — just kidding, we’re totally that kind of show,” says Andras. “I don’t hate that idea, I think it’s amazing. Anything could happen. I like that Dolls and Doc are grownups as well. They respect each other, they like each other, and they respect each other, if she even makes a decision yet.”

As for whether we’ll see Wynonna and Doc’s baby again, Andras says no — at least not this season. “I don’t want to say no exactly, but we fought so hard to get that baby to safety, I think we undermine our own story [by bringing her back]. But the spectre of the baby is everywhere this year,” she says.
