His Dark Materials was one of SDCC 2019’s most anticipated panels, as dedicated fans flooded Hall H to see the cast and creators bring Philip Pullman’s award-winning trilogy to life.

We live blogged the show’s first ever Hall H panel to share His Dark Materials news and details.

According to HBO, “The first season follows Lyra, a seemingly ordinary but brave young woman from another world. Her search for a kidnapped friend uncovers a sinister plot involving stolen children, and becomes a quest to understand a mysterious phenomenon called Dust.”

“As she journeys through the worlds, including our own, Lyra meets Will, a determined and courageous boy. Together, they encounter extraordinary beings and dangerous secrets, with the fate of both the living — and the dead — in their hands.”

Hypable was in Hall H to drink in every piece of news about the daemons and Dust of Lyra’s world, and preview more of what’s to come when the show airs on HBO and the BBC.

HBO released the trailer they debuted in Hall H online for all to see: check out Lyra’s Oxford, Mrs Coulter’s flat, Lee Scoresby kicking ass, and the grand introduction of Iorek Byrnison.

Edit: this panel is now complete, but you can read below for the best moments and quotes! Updates are in reverse chronological order.
