FOX made several announcements this morning concerning a few of their most beloved series.

– Renewals: FOX has given renewal orders to Scream Queens (season 2) and Empire (season 3). Notably, season 2 of Ryan Murphy’s Scream Queens series will be set in a hospital, “where some of the most fascinating and bizarre medical cases are under observation,” says FOX. Cast members were not announced today.

Prison Break gets a second life: Like they did for The X-Files (the series returns later this month for six episodes), FOX is breathing new life into Prison Break. Original series stars Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell are set to return as Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows respectively. FOX says, “the original producing team, including series creator Paul T. Scheuring (Zero Hour), Neal Moritz (The Fast and the Furious franchise), Marty Adelstein (Aquarius, Last Man Standing) and Dawn Olmstead (The Whispers, Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce) will return to executive-produce the new series, with Scheuring serving as showrunner/writer.”

They did not reveal a premiere date or the number of episodes.

24 set for a spinoff: Fox has announced that a new season of the series, now titled 24: Legacy, is in the works. Jack Bauer will be absent from this installment — Legacy will boast an entirely new cast of characters. “The project will revolve around a military hero’s return to the U.S. and the trouble that follows him back – compelling him to ask CTU for help in saving his life, and stopping what potentially could be one of the largest-scale terror attacks on American soil,” the network said in a statement.
