Episode 7 of Scream Queens, “Beware of Young Girls,” was full of mystery and intrigue while finally revealing that one of the main characters is in fact a murderer!

The episode opens with the funeral of Chanel No.2, aka Ariana Grande. Chanel is happy to see her go and hopes that she is burning in hell because she wouldn’t walk in a diamond formation across campus.

The living Chanels propose the idea of using a Quija board to contact Chanel No.2 in an effort to give her a chance to explain herself to Chanel. After verifying that Chanel No.5’s vagina has teeth, Chanel No.2 comes through to tell Chanel No.1 that Chad is cheating on her. This freaks Chanel out saying that she is messing with her from beyond the grave. “I’m going to prove that bitch wrong,” she screams before storming away.

Meanwhile we get our first look at Gigi since her dramatic instructions to the Red Devil a few episodes ago. “We are not kidnappers, we are murderers hell bent on revenge. I told you this. That is our brand. And if he’s messing with it, he has to go,” says Gigi to an anonymous person on the phone before being interrupted by Wes coming home. “I have to go now will you please go kill some people.” This is definitely the most direct information we have had regarding motive and potential killers.

Gigi asks Grace if she has looked into Feather McCarthy, a former Kappa who “ended up leaving the house.” Gigi clearly knows more here and is setting Grace up for something more sinister. Pete and Grace meet up with her back at the Kappa house and she confesses that she had an affair with Munsch’s husband. When she broke the news to Dean Munsch she went crazy, throwing a trophy through a window in a very Sue Sylvester type of way. Feather talks about a time when she was taking a bubble bath when someone pushed a transistor radio into her bathtub which connects to another murder. Grace and Pete ask if she is willing to go on record about the situation. When Feather returns home from talking to Grace and Pete, she follows blood drawn arrows and phrases up to a bedroom where she finds Mr. Munsch’s head sitting inside a fish tank.

Chanel heads over to Chad’s fraternity house and walks in on him half naked in a bed with a goat. Chanel is so freaked out by this that she says she is going to break up with him, but not before he demands that she hear him out. He says that he has a secret shame: he’s lactose intolerant. He shames her for not knowing that goat milk helps him stay hot.

An investigator arrests Dean Munsch saying that they have significant reason to think that she is the killer. They grab her and put her in a straight jacket and walk her out of the Kappa house. Pete and Grace are tracing the steps and seem to have concluded that Munsch is the killer. Now that no one is in danger, according to Pete, the circumstances have changed and they can now kiss and make out like they were always meant to. In the midst of making out, Munsch calls from the mental hospital and says that she needs to talk to them tomorrow.

Grace and Pete sit down with Munsch as she’s painting in the mental hospital. Munsch insists that Feather absolutely killed Mr. Munsch and says that she can’t trust her when she saw her in the bathtub. Pete notes that she basically gave herself away as the person who tried to kill Feather. Munsch demands that Grace and Pete bring back the dirt on Feather and they will give them information about the mysterious baby. Before they leave the mental hospital, one of the other patients paints a portrait to Grace and Pete and hands it over to them. “I paint them all,” she says referring to the people that come in to the hospital. Hold this particular scene for later! Realizing that there was a bologna sandwich at the crime scene and that Munsch can’t eat bologna, they realize that the killer may be still on the loose.

Back at the Quija board Chanel No.2 correctly figures out how many tampons Chanel No.6 has (the answer is nine), and that Chanel No.3 choked on Kix, the cereal. Chanel finally asks the question we’ve all been waiting for: who’s killing everybody. The Quija spells out Y-O-U, which freaks them all out. The other three Chanels are convinced that she is the killer and the only solution to saving their own lives is to kill Chanel.

“We’re all agreed: Chanel has to die, right?” asks Chanel No.6. While they are planning on how to kill Chanel, she walks in on them but they cover it up. Chanel No.6 insists that after Chanel’s laxative knocks her out, they’re going to murder her. Chanel gets a visit from the ghost of Chanel No.2 to apologize and to tell her that there are no dinosaurs and that she’s burning in hell. The amount of terrible people in hell that Chanel mentions is absolutely hilarious and again one of the highlights of the season thus far. Chanel No.2 also informs Chanel that the others are on their way to bash her skull in with a bowling ball, and tells her to rise up and not kill them as retaliation.

Grace and Pete head over to the Munsch house to investigate that crime scene closer. They take a toothbrush to the investigator who says that the same person who used that toothbrush also bit into the bologna sandwich, which seems to be Feather. Munsch determines that Feather runs the website ilovebologna.org, which sadly isn’t a real website. Apparently this is enough to arrest and detain Feather despite not having any evidence. Grace wants to know how Feather is related to all of this as part of the deal but Munsch insists that she come back next week.

Chanel confronts the other Chanels about trying to kill her, but they all apologize. “I’m willing to let bygones be bygones,” says Chanel. “In an effort to buy back your friendship, I bought you all presents,” Chanel says as she hands them all gifts: Nancy Drew hats with magnifying glasses to help determine who the killers are. “There are two killers and their names are Grace and Zayday,” proclaims Chanel. Chanel says that they are trying to break down the sorority and steal their boyfriends. Chanel’s new mission is to kill them so that they can restore order at Kappa. “Do I make myself clear, whores?”

Munsch dances around with her wine glass while her internal monologue confesses to the murder of her ex-husband. “Feather didn’t kill my hubby, I did. With a serial killer on the loose it was perfect timing” says Munsch. We watch as Feather is placed in solitary confinement for the murder of Munsch’s ex-husband while Munsch smiles on.

So it sounds like Munsch did in fact murder her ex-husband, being more interested in framing and seeking revenge on Feather than anything else. However, Munsch doesn’t appear to be one of the Red Devil killers. It seems that this murder was standalone and outside of whoever is behind the rest of the killings. Or does it?

Regardless of motives and whodunnits, there are still so many pieces of the puzzle to put together with Scream Queens. Every episode is inching us closer and closer to a result but let’s be honest, we probably aren’t going to know any real details until much closer to the season finale. The preview for next week’s episode features more of Niecy’s Nash’s character proclaiming that Zayday is the killer, so let’s hope we either find out the truth behind that or we move on!
