After taking a week off last Thursday to make room for the How to Get Away with Murder finale, Scandal season 4 resumes tonight with a new episode titled “The Lawn Chair.”
The new Scandal season 4 episode appears to be one of the most unique storylines this season. “A tragedy in D.C. gains national attention and the White House must deal with their problematic VP,” a synopsis from ABC reads.
It’s been two weeks since the last new episode aired, so you may need a refresher on what happened last time: Olivia was finally freed from the grips of Gus when Scandal season 1 favorite Stephen placed the winning bid for her ownership. After he brought her back to D.C., Olivia requested that he rejoin the team (remember, he used to be her right-hand man!). Stephen declined the offer and flew off into the sunset. Elsewhere during the episode, Mellie and Lizzie teamed up to take down VP Nichols, and thanks to Huck they made him suffer a stroke. For more details, check out our Scandal recap.

Video clips reveal more details about tonight’s new episode. Olivia will attempt to speak to a man who’s very upset that an officer killed his son. It appears to be a difficult situation for Olivia to deal with, because at one point she yells “I can’t fix this!”:
A clip from the beginning of episode 14 shows Olivia being introduced to the case (with aspects very similar to what happened in Ferguson, Missouri last summer) when the victim’s father fires a weapon and demands he be given the cop who shot Brandon:
It looks like tonight’s episode will be a deeply emotional one for the characters and their viewers.
