Scandal season 3 continues tonight with episode 7 “Everything’s Coming Up Mellie.” The title alone suggests the President’s wife will have a big episode.

Update: Read our ‘Scandal’ recap covering episode 7 now!

Reads the synopsis for Scandal season 3, episode 7, “Mellie is still trying to recover from the public backlash of the last year so she decides to do a hard-hitting news interview. Meanwhile, as Cyrus continues to plot against Sally Langston, we learn how Fitz, Mellie and Cyrus became a team. Back at OPA, Huck continues to push Quinn away, but Quinn’s bloodlust could get her into some dangerous situations.”

We wonder if we will see flashbacks or simple dialogue to open up the backstory behind Fitz, Mellie, and Cyrus?

Though the synopsis does not mention Olivia, a promo for this week’s episode puts her at the center. We see she’s feeling betrayed by Fitz because she thought she knew everything there was to know about the President:

One scene from the episode depicts Charlie and Quinn entering a romantic moment. Another shows Olivia telling her team about what she’s learned about her father and Fitz.
