Tonight’s TGIT includes Scandal 7×03, and How To Get Away With Murder 4×04. Here’s our roundup of what happened!

‘Scandal’ 7×03 ‘Day 101’:

Fitz is home. Home to his boring life in Rutland, Vermont, where he will make jam and live in quiet isolation, right? Well, after he fires the maid, the chef, the aide, and the groundskeeper. The man can make is own turkey sandwiches, drive his own car, and activate his own debit card.

But with all that freedom, he becomes trapped in his own Groundhog Day hell. Make the turkey, go for a run, read the paper.

Marcus gets a taste of the local culture in Havana before running back to his future (2023 to be exact) in Vermont. The Fitzgerald Grant III Presidential Library will stand. But what will be included?

Namely, will there be an Olivia Pope wing? She was not just a fling; she was his legacy. As Marcus says, “She is Hillary Clinton, Oprah, Beyoncé, and Sister Souljah.” She is the First Girlfriend. But if Fitz has his way, she will just be his communications director and manager of his second campaign.

Communications director, ran my second campaign, she didn’t define my presidency.

Marcus laments on his time in the White House. Was he making change or simply getting by? The man on the street makes waves, but with the right power, Marcus could get a storm brewing.

But first he needs to get Fitz to throw a donor dinner.

After drinks, Marcus and Fitz get into it, laying everything out on the table. Marcus is furious that Fitz stands on the shoulders of the Black woman who lifted him into power and barely pays her the respect she deserves.

Fitz fires back at Marcus, telling him that he won’t ever feel fulfilled riding the coattails of everyone in power.

Mellie gives Marcus the Fitz lowdown on a late-night call.

Marcus is in what she calls stage two — the one where you realize how spoiled and lazy and entitled Fitz is. Stage three, however, is where the magic resides. He has the power to change the world, and if you stick around, you could be a part of that.

Fitz has other things to worry about than being short-staffed, however. Like why Eli is sitting on the floor of his room with a gun. Paranoid Papa Pope is on edge, and for good reason. He has a problem. His daughter is Command.

In the midst of hysteria, Papa Pope does get to twist a Beyoncé line — “Who runs the world? One girl.” Through his tears, Eli makes a final plea. Fitz needs to bring Olivia back from the darkness, bring his daughter back.

Before Fitz returns to D.C. he and Marcus pay a visit to a young man trying to remove a Confederate statue in Vermont. His appearance sparks conversation and ultimately the removal of the statue.

But now, back to the district to take down another figure. Will Olivia get to experience Fitz in Stage Three?

‘How To Get Away With Murder’ 4×04 ‘Was She Ever Good at Her Job?’:

Things were full steam ahead with Annalise’s class action lawsuit in How to Get Away with Murder season 4, episode 4, “Was She Ever Good at Her Job”? She got the ball rolling last week by winning yet another case to help her overall suit, but there’s still a lot of work to be done.

Unfortunately, to get anything done, she needed money. Since she wasn’t willing to accept Frank’s blood money, she convinced President Hargrove to hire her as a consultant. Luckily for us, Tegan was Hargrove’s lawyer, so Michaela and Annalise were forced to work together again.

Of course, they got Hargrove an awesome deal, but more importantly, we got to see a glimpse of a new side of the Michaela-Annalise dynamic. I feel bad that Michaela’s fresh start is being hijacked by Laurel (who’s now also roped Oliver into her scheme) and now Annalise, but at the same time I really hope Annalise takes Tegan up on her offer, so we can explore this working relationship further.

Connor’s dads, or more correctly, his dad and Ted, won over Oliver and all of Connor’s friends in How to Get Away with Murder season 4, episode 4, but they still have some work to do with Connor. Honestly, I was all for giving them the benefit of the doubt until Connor’s dad told him not to marry Oliver! Papa, don’t preach. Connor’s keeping his baby.

In other relationship news, I’ll try not to get prematurely excited, but…it looks like Flaurel might be back on! While it would be easy to chalk their little escapade up to Laurel’s hyper-sex drive and their familiarity, we can’t ignore the fact that they were in that car together in the first place. They’re clearly getting close again, and if the flash forward is any indication, there will be more Flaurel to look forward to.

Speaking of the flash forward, why on Earth is Oliver adorably bundled up in Michaela’s office? And why is there blood there? Don’t even try to tell me that the “he” Michaela was referring to was Connor or Asher, who, other than Annalise, are the only characters unaccounted for. If Asher gets a last minute internship at Caplan & Gold, I will be officially worried.

Oliver wasn’t the only one who appeared in the flash forward this week. Bonnie also showed up to “speak to the witness.” Bonnie’s story is getting very interesting in How to Get Away with Murder season 4. I can’t wait to see what her plan is with Annalise’s cases and her therapist. Is she still Team AK, or has she really gone astray? Okay, I’ll stop.
