Tell us about The Empire Chronicles Series. What can readers expect when they jump into this series?
The Empire Chronicles is a New Adult Paranormal Romance series that features Pterons (a unique kind of bird shifter — think hot guys with wings), as well as bear shifters with a sprinkling of witches and other paranormal creatures thrown in. It follows four individuals (two couples), as they fight to protect their paranormal society as well as their lives.
Describe Savor in 140 words or less.
Vera and Jared tackle their intense attraction to each other while trying to protect the people they love. Loyalties are tested, and ultimately the pair realize they can’t trust anyone but each other.
You write in a couple different genres. What do you like about switching it up?
I find switching between genres helps keep my writing fresh, and I use what I learn writing in one to help the other.
New Adult is a hot category in books right now. Where do you hope to see this category go?
It’s been fun to watch the New Adult category develop over the past few years, and I’m hoping to see further growth and attention to different genres beyond contemporary romance, such as paranormal and fantasy.
What are the books that you think everyone should read at least once?
Moby Dick. I was resistant to read this classic in high school, but now I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve read it. Melville has such a fantastic way with his prose and he does such an amazing job capturing obsession. Lord of the Rings or The Hobbit or both. Reading J.R.R. Tolkien is always such a wonderful ride.
About ‘Savor’ (The Empire Chronicles #4)
Jared is Vera’s perfect man — until he opens his mouth. An incredible body and set of wings can only go so far when everything he says seems designed to make her mad. Still, she can’t deny her intense attraction or the fact that he is the closest thing she has to a friend.
Jared doesn’t go for bear shifters, especially ones that are related to his ex, but he can’t resist Vera’s charm or the way she understands him better than anyone else.
As suspicions build and loyalties are tested, Vera and Jared realize that they may not be able to trust anyone but each other.
