The first trailer for Saving Mr. Banks starring Tom Hanks as Walt Disney has come online.

Saving Mr. Banks follows Disney as he talks P.L. Travers (played by Emma Thompson), the author of Mary Poppins, into letting him create a film based on her beloved book. His desire to adapt the story comes from a promise he made to his daughters. As Walt gets to know P.L. better, he learns about secrets from her past that drive her resistance to seeing Mary Poppins hit movie theaters (or a “movie house,” as Walt calls it).

Notable in this trailer is the first look at B.J. Novak and and Jason Schwartzman as the Sherman brothers, Robert and Richard. The duo won two Academy Awards in 1965 for their Mary Poppins songs “Feed The Birds” and “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.” We also see Paul Giamatti who looks to play P.L.’s driver.

Just yesterday the first photo from the film debuted on TIME’s website. In the first official look, we saw Walt and P.L. walking down Main Street U.S.A.

Saving Mr. Banks looks like a wonderful throw back to a special time in Walt’s career. His attempts to adapt Mary Poppins are particularly relevant in today’s movie industry. As readers know, we often report on studios adapting popular books.

Saving Mr. Banks opens in limited release December 13 and everywhere December 20.
