When Saturday Night Live premieres later this month, you’ll see a new face within the cast: Staten Island native Pete Davidson.

The comedian was personally selected by Lorne Michaels and will be one of two additions to Saturday Night Live season 40’s cast, reports Deadline.

You can watch Davidson’s stand up routine, performed during an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! earlier this year, below:

The addition of just two cast members is a big change from last year, when Saturday Night Live added seven new players. Of those, three left after season 39.

Last week we learned that SNL replaced Cecily Strong at the Weekend Update anchor desk with writer Michael Che. Strong will move back to the cast member team.

Saturday Night Live premieres September 27 with host Chris Pratt and musical guest Ariana Grande. Week two, airing October 4, will star Sarah Silverman and Maroon 5.
