After her controversial MTV Video Music Awards performance put her front and center of media critics around the world, it was announced that the former Hannah Montana would be hosting and performing as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live. Miley helped open the show with a sketch about the downfall of America where her former self tried to stop her from doing the VMAs (played by the popular Vanessa Bayer).

Miley lent her vocals to a parody of her own song “We Can’t Stop” when she and Taran Killam played John Boehner and Michele Bachman respectively.
