Sandra Bullock’s college years will officially serve as inspiration for Amazon’s latest original series.

According to Deadline, Sandra Bullock’s college years will be serving as the main source of inspiration for a brand new series over at Amazon Studios.

Constance vet K.C. Perry (who is also known for serving as a writer on The CW’s The Originals) will serve as creator and writer on the upcoming dramedy which is said to take place in the world of music and dance.

The series is described as being a “hilarious, boundary-crossing, and often soul-wrenching trek through the oppressive cultural norms of the deal south in the 1980s, where one darkly off-beat young woman defies expectations and sets out in search of love, community, and most importantly an identity of her own.”

Bullock herself is set to serve as an executive producer on the project alongside Akiva Goldsman and John Legend.

Bullock and Goldsman specifically have a long history of working together on films such as A Time To Kill and Practical Magic.

The idea for the series was born from Bullock and Goldsman’s conversations about the Academy Award Winner’s days as a college student at East Carolina University in Greenville, Northerlies Carolina, where Bullock earned her BFA in Drama in 1987.

There’s currently no word on when we can expect to see the series make its way to air.
