Watch the music video for Sam Smith’s James Bond: Spectre title song “Writing’s on the Wall,” if for no other reason than to spot a few new clips from the movie.

Sam Smith’s contribution to the legacy of James Bond title songs was underwhelming at best. Smith has himself confessed that he wrote “Writing’s on the Wall” in less than half an hour, and the end result left fans disappointed (our comment section on the song announcement post is proof of that!).

None the less, it has rocked to the top of the U.K. charts, sold and streamed more than 70,000 times since its September 25 release. It is the first James Bond song ever to hit the top spot, writes The Hollywood Reporter — even Adele’s “Skyfall” only reached #2.

The song will play over the intro credits of Spectre, Sam Mendes’ latest franchise installment starring Daniel Craig as the titular character.

The final official Spectre trailer hit last week, but there are still snippets of new information to come as we build up to the movie’s release later this month.

In Sam Smith’s music video for “Writing’s on the Wall,” the song is almost twice as long as the version released last week, and does have a more impressive crescendo — although the song never quite reaches a satisfying peak:

The tone of the music video certainly fits the somber tone of the song, as Smith stands in front of caskets covered by British flags. We see Craig’s James Bond move around in a similar setting, presumably for a funeral.

We glimpse some of the new players — Bond’s new love interests Monica Belluci and Léa Seydoux get steamy introductions, while Christophe Waltz’s Blofeld sticks to the shadows — and cloudy skies and snowy mountains set the mood.

Is this movie going to be super depressing? Guess we’ll find out soon!

‘James Bond: Spectre’ hits UK cinemas on October 26, reaching US audiences on November 6
