Ryan Murphy has confirmed that developments with Glee season 4, including the first script, are underway.

Talking to reporters after an event in Hollywood last night, THR reports that Ryan confirmed that development of Glee season 4, which will see the return of all of the series regulars, has just begun:

“We’re literally just writing the first script now,” he said. “We’re figuring out who’s doing what, who’s coming back.”

When asked how the show will deal with the multiple locations of the characters, Ryan was somewhat vague in his response:

“I want them to come back, I think it’ll be a different way,” he said. “We haven’t figured it out but I know what the stories are, I just don’t know how many episodes. We want to keep all our options open. I think I have to talk to the actors and say, ‘What do you want to do?’ That’s how we’ve been dealing with it. I’ve only talked to Lea so far. That’s all happening in the next two weeks.”

Specifically, when asked how the show will be dealing with Finn going to the army, Ryan simply replied:

“Big secret.”

Ryan also says that he’s very excited to have guest stars Kate Hudson and Sarah Jessica Parker working on the show, as we reported recently.
