Ryan Murphy’s upcoming Netflix limited series Hollywood has released its first key art poster and set an official release date for May.

Ryan Murphy has announced the official premiere date for his next Netflix series Hollywood — May 1, 2020.

Described as Ryan Murphy’s love letter to the Golden Age of Tinseltown, Hollywood is a limited, seven episode ensemble series lead by Emmy award-winning American Crime Story and GLEE actor Darren Criss, Grammy and Tony award-winning singer/actress Patti LuPone, and Ready or Not breakout star Samara Weaving.

According to the official description for the series, Hollywood will follow group of aspiring actors and filmmakers in post-World War II Hollywood as they try to make it. Each character will offer a unique glimpse behind the gilded curtain of Hollywood’s Golden Age, spotlighting the unfair systems and biases across race, gender, and sexuality that continue to this day. Provocative and incisive, Ryan Murphy’s Hollywood will expose and examine decades-old power dynamics, and what the entertainment landscape might look like if they had been dismantled.

In addition to the Darren Criss, Patti LuPone, and Samara Weaving, Hollywood will likewise feature Laura Harrier (Spider-Man: Homecoming, BlacKkKlansman) as Camille, David Corenswet (The Politician) as Jack, Holland Taylor (The Practice) as Ellen Kincaid, Jeremy Pope (Ain’t Too Proud) as Archie, Dylan McDermott (American Horror Story) as Ernie, Emmy winner Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory) as Henry Wilson, Jake Picking (Top Gun: Maverick) as Rock Hudson, and Joe Mantello (Wicked) as Dick.

The series is co-created and executive produced by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, who likewise produced Glee and Scream Queens. Alexis Martin Woodall, Darren Criss, and Janet Mock will also be executive producing. Janet Mock, a producer and writer known for 2018’s Pose, Ryan Murphy’s 2019 Netflix series The Politician, and the upcoming 2020 Devs is likewise set to write and direct the series.
