Earlier today, Glee, The New Normal and American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy deleted the content of his Twitter account – only to reemerge.

Earlier today, fans noticed when Ryan Murphy’s Twitter account had all of its content wiped from the page. Fans began wondering what happened, assuming that his Twitter account was hacked.

However, hours later (around 6:30 p.m. EST) Ryan tweeted again, reassuring his 350,000 followers that his account actually wasn’t hacked and that he would be back after the holidays:

There’s no word on why exactly Ryan deleted his tweets. Often times Ryan would hold Twitter Q&A sessions with fans of Glee, The New Normal and American Horror Story where candid and interesting details about the show, its characters and the plot would emerge. Ryan was also proactive in tweeting exclusive photos straight from the set of the shows giving fans a unique and engaging perspective.

This week Ryan tweeted out a picture of a shirtless Blaine Anderson with the description of it being part of a “Men of McKinley” calendar and that it would be coming soon. Fan reaction was mixed with some people finding it exciting and others finding it disrespectful to both Blaine Anderson and Darren Criss. Could this disappearing act today have something to do with that?

One has to wonder if the reason behind deleting all of the content was to not have to explain himself in the event that plot points or original responses end up getting changed in the future. Fans will also know that Ryan was quick to call certain people out for their negativity on his Twitter account.

When Ryan returns to Twitter full-time will he be bringing the exclusive content and Twitter Q&As back? Only time will tell.
