American swimmer Ryan Lochte is reportedly interested in appearing on SNL after Seth MacFarlane portrayed Lochte in a sketch on Weekend Update last weekend.

MTV.com caught up with Lochte at the iHeartRadio festival where he admitted that SNL had contacted him following MacFarlane’s portrayal.

If you missed last weekend’s Weekend Update, here’s MacFarlane’s sketch, portraying the absent-minded Lochte that has been talked about since he started doing press over the summer:

When asked if SNL’s Lorne Michaels or any of the producers had contacted Lochte, he simply replied:

“Yeah, they did [call],”

When asked if he would be working hard on his improvisational skills ahead of potentially appearing on the late night comedy show, Lochte replied that there was a little more to it than that:

“Well, hopefully next week I can, if it doesn’t interfere with my training.”

When asked what he would be up to doing on the show in regards to a character, he replied “Anything!”
