The trailer for Damien Chazelle’s La La Land musical starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone premiered Wednesday morning.

La La Land is a forthcoming showbiz musical set in modern-day Los Angeles (though we wouldn’t fault you for assuming otherwise), and reuniting Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling for their third movie together.

The duo previously fell in love in Crazy, Stupid Love, and in Gangster Squad they, well, also fell in love. Is third time the charm for this time-traveling supercouple?

We’re sure Ryan Gosling’s serenading attempts won’t hurt! Check out the first La La Land trailer below, via People.com:

Ryan Gosling sings, “City of stars, are you shining just for me? City of stars, there’s so much I can’t see. Is this the start of something wonderful, or one more dream that I cannot make true?”

In the movie, Emma Stone plays an aspiring actress, and Ryan Gosling plays a jazz musician. The pair embark on a romance, while trying to keep their creative dreams on track.

Here’s the official synopsis for the movie:

“In this modern take on the Hollywood musical from Damien Chazelle, the Academy Award-nominated writer and director of “Whiplash,” Sebastian (Ryan Gosling) and Mia (Emma Stone) are drawn together by their common desire to do what they love. But as success mounts they are faced with decisions that begin to fray the fragile fabric of their love affair, and the dreams they worked so hard to maintain in each other threaten to rip them apart.”

Damien Chazelle also brought us the highly acclaimed Oscar contender Whiplash, starring J.K. Simmons and Miles Teller. La La Land is set to compete with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story this winter, premiering December 16, 2016.
