Felicity Jones is taking on the role of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg in her latest film, On the Basis of Sex, and the trailer will inspire you.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg is a hero for a lot of women, and her story is finally being told in the new film On the Basis of Sex. Felicity Jones will be playing Ginsburg in the early days of her law career. The film will chronicle how the future Supreme Court Justice managed to not only make huge strides for women’s rights, but help change our country for the better.

The first trailer was released for the film, and it looks like a fascinating look into this badass woman’s life. Jones brings a ton of intensity to the role, and we cannot wait to see more from this movie.

Originally, Natalie Portman was slated to play Ginsburg in the film, but she ultimately dropped out of the film as it was stuck in development for a couple of years. Jones was brought in to replace Portman, and we’re pretty impressed with how she channels that Ginsburg confidence in this trailer.

Though there is a lot to talk about in Ginsburg’s life so far, On the Basis of Sex will focus on one of her earliest cases, Weinberger v. Wiesenfeld. As Variety reports, this case had Ginsburg successfully arguing before the Supreme Court to get a widower his share of survivor’s benefits that he was denied based on gender after his wife passed away. It was a monumental case that helped bring about gender equality in the eyes of the law.

You can see the story behind one of Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s earliest and most monumental cases when On the Basis of Sex releases in theaters on December 25 (just in time for RBG’s 25th anniversary on the Supreme Court).
