Would you be interested in seeing a Gone With The Wind-length Dark Knight Rises?

We only count this in the rumor category because of the wording from the source, but check out this quote from MTV’s Kevin Sullivan (via CBM) regarding the rough cut of the film that has already been screened for studio execs.

The Dark Knight Rises is real and finished, presumably in the form of a four-hour rough cut. There’s no official word on the reaction to the screening, as of yet.”

It’s the word “presumably” that raises the red flag here. Does this mean that he doesn’t know? Is he plucking a number out of the air or making a joke?

True, the cut for The Dark Knight Rises has some editing in its future, but exactly how much? How much essential story is uncuttable? Will we have a three-hour, epic finale? Will you see it if it ends up being over three hours?

UPDATE: So, it seems that our Spid-erm…bat senses were correct in thinking that he had no information regarding the film’s actual length. From Kevin Sullivan’s Twitter (via Batman-News.com):

In any case, this has got us wondering about the real running time. Any speculations?
