Many rumors have been circling around the upcoming Justice League movie, and today another rumor – about who the villain will be – is now out!

Latino Review is reporting that the villain for the 2015 Warner Bros. Justice League film will be none other than Darkseid!

Although this information hasn’t been officially confirmed by Warner Bros., it’s interesting speculation and we’ll be sure to keep you posted if it is confirmed.

It was recently revealed that the villain in The Avengers 2 and Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy will be Thanos, who was directly inspired by DC Comics’ villain Darkseid. DC Comics writer Jack Kirby modeled Darkseid after Hitler, and Darkseid’s home world, Apokolips, on Nazi Germany.

The Justice League script has reportedly already been written, but Warner Bros. is now seeking a director and the lead actors. Recently, Joseph Gordon-Levitt was rumored to play Batman, but his representatives have denied these rumors.

Based upon the superb success of The Avengers this year, ranking it the #3 highest grossing movie of all time (behind James Cameron’s Titanic and Avatar), it’ll be interesting to see what the box office will do when Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and maybe more, come together to defend the world.

With Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy hitting theaters in 2014, Avengers 2 having a May 2015 release date, alongside the scheduled 2015 release date for the Justice League movie, there will surely be many more critical comparisons between these films throughout the next 2.5 years.

What do you think about the rumor of Darkseid being the villain in Justice League? Are you happy, or were you hoping for a different villain?
