Rumor has it that record execs are working to make the first music video in space, and at the top of the lists of artists who could be leaving gravity behind are new parents Beyoncé and Jay-Z!

An anonymous source reportedly told the Sun:

The label people have been talking about making a music video in space. Beyonce and Jay-Z seemed the obvious option. Everything is being done to make it happen.

And just what is being done to send Mom and Pop Carter into the great beyond?

Record execs are inquiring behind the scenes about filming on one of Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic craft.

Flights on the six-seater ships, due to launch later this year, will cost £780,000 each and blast passengers 70,000ft into Earth’s atmosphere.

At about $1.2 million per seat, that would be one expensive music video! With just the basics: Beyoncé, Jay-Z, a cameraman, director, sound tech, stylist and manager, we’re talking at least a $10 million music video. Not to mention that the couple’s daughter, Blue Ivy, is less than a week old!

We’re more than a little skeptical about this whole rumor… what do you think? Would you be excited about the first extraterrestrial music video?
