The CW has released our first look at Ruby Rose as Kate Kane, aka Batwoman.
The photo depicts Rose, who was cast in August, suited up in the streets of Gotham. Rose will make her debut as Batwoman in this year’s Arrowverse crossover, which will feature three of the four shows: Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl.
The crossover appearance is intended to serve as a backdoor pilot into a full Batwoman series, which is currently in development at The CW.
The official logline for the series reads:
Armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate Kane soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence. But don’t call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope.

The Arrowverse crossover will begin with a special airing of The Flash on Sunday, December 9. Arrow will air on Monday, December 10. Supergirl will wrap up the crossover on Tuesday, December 11.
