Roswell, New Mexico’s Crash Con was even more exciting than advertised in season 2, episode 12.

It looks like Roswell, New Mexico is building up to one hell of a season finale, with multiple atomizers, bombs, and alien powers ready to detonate at any moment. This episode brought the whole gang back together, but it doesn’t look like they’ll be staying that way for long.

This was probably my favorite episode of Roswell, New Mexico season 2. It was packed with twists and reveals, and it was so cool to see everyone teaming up together. I would love to see way more of that in future seasons of the show.

There was so much excitement, it’s hard to know where to start, so I guess I’ll just take it from the top. Max saw how much fun Liz was having with her alien experiments, so he decided to do his own. He’s been taking significant quantities of Liz’s alien killing serum, which is kind of helping him control his powers and regain his memories, but it could also be…you know, killing him.

Max and Liz are in a strange place going into the Roswell, New Mexico season finale. Liz’s “I don’t want to go anywhere you’re not going to follow me” speech was huge for her, but it didn’t seem to quell the dishonesty growing between them. Max isn’t being honest about his use of the antidote, and Liz still has every intention of publishing her findings.

Liz’s impassioned speech about how society views minorities, specifically Mexican immigrants, was incredibly timely and illuminating. Not only does she carry the weight of her family’s expectations on her shoulders, but she’s also hauling the reputation of every Mexican before and after her. Her research isn’t only driven by her passion for science, but also her desire for recognition and acknowledgement for herself and all Mexican immigrants.

Both Liz and Max have valid arguments, and I would love to see them really work through this issue and forge a path forward together. They seem to get interrupted every time it comes up, so they’re both still just doing their own thing and avoiding the inevitable conflict. I really hope Max’s state at the end of Roswell, New Mexico season 2, episode 12 doesn’t serve to table the discussion forever, with one side relenting to the other. I want to see them make this huge decision together, as a team, like they promised!

There’s no way both seasons of Roswell, New Mexico are going to end with Max’s death, so I refuse to acknowledge him being dead as a possibility. Unless, of course, all of the aliens are in some death-like state that the humans need to rescue them from. Judging by what happened to Maria, that could be exactly what happens.

It turns out Helena Ortecho isn’t the exact kind of evil that we thought she was, but she’s still pretty evil. She’s not involved with any scary and powerful organizations or trying to mass murder aliens, but she did abduct Charlie Cameron and Michael Guerin, extorting them into building a weapon to wipe out all Manes men. That’s some evil mastermind stuff for sure.

All of the plans in Roswell, New Mexico season 2, episode 12 were so convoluted! Helena couldn’t just kill Jesse Manes to avenge Jim Valenti’s death, she needed to have him die by his own hand as he tried to destroy the aliens. Jesse Manes couldn’t just take out the aliens, he needed to make everyone think they were terrorists so he could eventually kill them and get even more glory. Sheesh.

The level of convolution threatened to take me out of the episode for a minute, but in the end, I think it delivered enough satisfying twists and meaningful moments to make it worth it. Let’s be honest, Guerin’s “Imma come back for you” was enough to justify this entire episode of Roswell, New Mexico.

Fortunately, he won’t have to go back for him, because Alex managed to get out. However, that doesn’t mean that he’s safe. The Manes brothers and Michael are all at the mercy of either Jesse Manes or Helena at this point, and I’m guessing it’s not going to end well for at least one of them. Flint has been handprinted, which I’m assuming makes him a target for both atomizers, and Gregory is standing on the wrong side of his father’s angry trigger finger.

Oh, and don’t forget, there’s a newly constructed alien bomb just waiting to go off at any moment. Yeah, the Roswell, New Mexico season 2 finale is going to be intense.

Charlie Cameron is at risk of burning to death, Max’s use of his powers and the antidote got the better of him, Maria has likely been atomized, all of the Manes men are in jeopardy, and the only person who can stop the bomb is a little preoccupied with her boyfriend who’s potentially dying for a second time. Things are not looking good.

Even Diego was getting into trouble in Roswell, New Mexico season 2, episode 12. We have no idea what he wants to do with the contents of Liz’s lab, but judging by the way he was weirdly lurking around all episode, I’m guessing it’s not good. Also, let’s not forget that Steph was planning to come to Crash Con with her father, so we’ll probably see her and Kyle enter the chaos in the Roswell, New Mexico season finale.

I honestly can’t wait to see everyone step up to fix all the crazy problems happening right now in the next episode, but I’m low key terrified to see who we might lose. I’m also expecting an appearance, or at least a mention of the other aliens in the season finale, since we’ve been learning so much about them all season. Noah gave us so much information in the season 1 finale that hasn’t really amounted to much, so I’m assuming more of Max’s memories will shed a light on something big. I’m so excited to see all of that and so much more next week!
