Rooms by Lauren Oliver is getting a brand new look for the paperback release this September.

The new cover was created by award-winning artist Jeffrey Alan Love.

This cover is a drastic departure from the hardback cover which featured a red background with a burning haunted house. The above look features softer colors and Love’s trademark figure with elongated limbs. The house is also incredible with faces woven into the structure and bodies making the spindles on the roof. Everywhere you look this cover has something new to offer.

Rooms is Oliver’s stand alone adult title that was released last Fall. At its heart Rooms is a ghost story featuring a pair of ghosts who watch a family that have come to the house to settle their inheritance. The story is broken into 11 parts and told from varying points of view. This may sound complicated to follow but the story seamlessly weaves the normal with the paranormal as ghosts and humans reside together and almost interact. The story also includes flashbacks from the ghosts so you get to know them before they were the ghosts in the walls. While this story features ghosts it is not your typical haunted tale, it is more of a character study. As always Oliver’s writing is what takes the story to a different level.
