With Marvel’s first female-led superhero movie Captain Marvel coming up, it’s time to talk casting. And Ronda Rousey is ready to… fight for it.

Gal Gadot is shaping up to be a fantastic Wonder Woman. Melissa Benoist’s Supergirl is both cute and fierce.

But consider this: An actual badass MMA fighter, who can legitimately kick all of our asses, donning the Captain Marvel suit and fighting bad guys.

Ronda Rousey, who has already appeared on the big screen on several occasions (including in Fast and Furious 7 and The Expendables), said in a recent Reddit AMA that she’d like to “vie for the role” of Marvel’s titular superheroine, and has linked to several incredible fan edits proving just how fantastic she’d be in the role:

Of course, Marvel will probably scan the big-name Hollywood catalog before veering off track (one actress reportedly in talks is Emily Blunt, who is set to stun in Sicario later this year), but it’s still fun to consider.

After all, don’t we want a legitimately tough, muscly female superhero for a change? Someone who isn’t there to look good first and kick ass second — but rather someone who already kicks ass and looks good, terrifying, hard and passionate while doing it?
