RockLove Jewelry’s Nightmare Before Christmas and Disney Villains collections are perfect for die-hard fans at any time of year — but especially at Halloween.

If you haven’t heard of RockLove Jewelry yet, it’s time to take the dive. The About page on RockLove.com reads, “After an old-world apprenticeship in Florence, Italy, designer/jeweler Allison Cimino fused her love of history, fantasy, and sci-fi with her training as a silversmith to develop RockLove’s exclusive sterling silver collections.”

“In addition to the ever changing RockLove line,” the site continues, “Allison has had the honor to collaborate with many beloved franchises to create sophisticated, clever merchandise that allows men & women of all ages to celebrate their favorite fandom.”

If that doesn’t sound like something Hypable readers would appreciate, I don’t know what does.

While RockLove has plenty of pieces to get excited over, the Halloween spirit is thick in the air, and there are a few collections that really stand out.

First and foremost is the Nightmare Before Christmas collection, which features some really unique pieces. Some of them are a bit subtle, like the True Love Never Dies ring, which is a perfect addition to any spooky outfit, while others are a loud-and-proud part of the Nightmare line, like the Shock, Lock, and Barrel masks.

You can view the entire collection at this link, or check out a few of our favorite pieces below:

Next up is the Disney Villains collection, featuring the Evil Queen, Ursula, and the Queen of Hearts. Just like the Nightmare Before Christmas collection, some of the pieces are subtle and could go with any outfit, while others will declare your love for your favorite Villainess for all to see.

After seeing those pictures, how could you not want each and every necklace, ring, and earring set!?

We were also lucky enough to chat with designer Allison Cimino to learn about her process and her favorite pieces.

How do you go about choosing which aspects of the film or the characters you’ll turn into jewelry?

Typically I’m a big fan of the property, and already watch or read it frequently. When I design, my imagination is most often captured by storytelling… what an icon means, what a character does, how something is unique. That’s why so many RockLove pieces flip, spin, roll, etc. — I love that demonstrating the jewelry can allow you to share the magic of your fandom.

Which pieces are your favorites?

There are so many Disney X RockLove designs of which I am proud, it’s hard to choose! The Ursula inspired Tentacles Post Earrings, Ring, and Collar are my personal favorites, along with the Shell Locket, which I wore for good luck to all my Disney meetings. It really wow-ed the team! The Evil Queen’s Dagger Hearts have a sparkle that will stop you in your tracks! And the Jack & Sally Necklace wraps up all the romance of The Nightmare Before Christmas into one commemorative 25th Anniversary piece.

Did any of the designs give you any trouble? Are there any that turned out differently than you initially thought they would?

Such a good question and honestly they have turned out exactly as I envisioned, which is probably the greatest victory of all! I’m a trained jeweler so I typically am planning not just dimensions or idea, but everything right down to how the articulating is engineered. For the Disney X RockLove collection, I’ve been working with an amazing family-owned jewelry company in Thailand, and we communicate back and forth every day, tweaking the pieces until they are perfect. Sometimes I even take a sample to my own jewelry bench, work on it, and send it back. Together we’ve brought the sketches to life!

Which of the special or hidden details are your favorites?

Not only are the music notes in the Aria Necklace and the Shell Locket accurately transcribed, but each golden nautilus shell is cast separately and then actually “captured” by the sterling tentacles. The Poison Apple is a combination of matte red enamel and polished black rhodium and Zero’s nose is a tiny orange enameled pumpkin. While I love the bigger more magical reveal moments, like Zombie Duck’s trolley wheels rolling, I enjoy, too, all the more subtle details, like how the Nightmare Before Christmas Spiral Ring is engraved “True Love Never Dies” on the underside of the bone shank. It even secrets an etched thorned heart.

What are some of the other properties you would love to tackle next?

I was so excited for the upcoming live action (premiers May 24, 2019) that I am already done with an entire collection celebrating the colors and patterns of Aladdin. The original samples are sitting next to my computer so I can oogle and play with them throughout the day. And while I have other exciting properties in the works, the other standout is inspired by the ultimate in iconic Disney Villains — MALEFICENT!

Are you looking forward to what RockLove and Disney will be doing next?
