Did your childhood just twinge? We thought it might.

Roald Dahl’s The BFG (an acronym for Big Friendly Giant) has long been considered a classic children’s tale and E.T. screenwriter Melissa Mathison is up to the task of adapting the cherished story for the silver screen.

According to Collider, Mathison (who appears to have an affinity with acronym titles) will pen the script for Dreamworks although it has not been specified if we will see a live-action or animated translation.

So what do you think? Do you think The BFG would work better as a live-action film or an animated feature? You may remember the animated version that was made in 1989, could we be looking at our first animated remake of an already animated film?
