Riverdale suspended production after someone on the show recently came into contact with someone who tested positive for the coronavirus.

According to a statement from Warner Bros. to Deadline, “The team member is currently receiving medical evaluation.”

The statement went on to say that Warner Bros. is “working closely with the appropriate authorities and health agencies in Vancouver to identify and contact all individuals who may have come into direct contact with our team member. The health and safety of our employees, casts and crews is always our top priority. We have and will continue to take precautions to protect everyone who works on our productions around the world.”

The statement ended by saying that “out of an abundance of caution, production on Riverdale is currently suspended.”

It’s not immediately clear whether that person is part of the cast or the crew.

Riverdale is currently in the midst of filming its fourth season. The show is based on the characters from Archie Comics and stars KJ Apa, Cole Sprouse, Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes, Casey Cott and Madelaine Petsch. Riverdale is produced by Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios, in association with Berlanti Productions.

Riverdale is far from the only show impacted by the novel coronavirus. A crew member who worked on the upcoming Fox series neXt tested positive for the virus while filming in Chicago and CBS’ Survivor has suspended production of season 41, which was set to start filming in Fiji later in March, due to growing concern about the spread of the virus.

The NBA recently suspended its season indefinitely after one of its players tested positive for the virus, and dozens of conventions and film festivals — including SXSW and Coachella — have been cancelled or postponed.

No word yet on when Riverdale will continue production on its season.
