The new trailer for Riverdale season 4 teases the sad start to the season, and much more.

The Riverdale cast and creator came to New York Comic Con to preview the upcoming season 4. Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa was joined by many of the show’s parents for their panel at NYCC 2019. Marisol Nichols (Hermione Lodge), Mark Consuelos (Hiram Lodge), Skeet Ulrich (FP Jones), and Molly Ringwald (Mary Andrews) helmed the panel, which is fitting, since the NYCC trailer that was released focused on the Riverdale families.

The trailer starts by teasing the heartbreaking moment that Archie learns about his father’s death, and goes on to show the aftermath. It looks like Riverdale season 4 will start off on a very solemn note, as a tribute to the late Luke Perry, before jumping into the same insane drama we’ve come to expect from the series.

In the trailer, Archie makes some good decisions about the boxing gym with Mad Dog and a bad decision about donning a certain hood, Betty tries to figure things out with her newly discovered brother, Veronica deals with the “scandal” of being a Lodge, Jughead makes some creepy new friends at his new high school, Cheryl summons Jason from beyond the grave, and Hiram even shows some emotion (but it’s probably not real).

Of course, there’s also some steamy bedroom action. There are the obvious sexy scenes featuring Bughead, Varchie, and Choni, but we also get to see Alice and FP, as well as Hiram and Hermione get down and dirty! We can’t wait to see how these scenes come about.
