On the heels of Fame and Glee comes Jason Katims’ Rise, an NBC series about a high school musical department starring Josh Radnor, Auli’i Cravalho, Rosie Perez and more.

Entertainment Weekly can report that NBC has given series orders to two new exciting projects: the military drama For God and Country, and the teen musical Rise from Jason Katims of Parenthood and Roswell fame.

Rise stars How I Met Your Mother‘s Josh Radnor as Lou Mazzuchelli, a “dedicated teacher and family man” who takes over the school’s lackluster theater department (in other words: he’s the Will Schuester of drama class).

Inspired by a true story, the musical series will also star Auli’i Cravalho, who stole our hearts as Disney’s Moana, along with Rosie Perez, Marley Shelton, Damon J. Gillespie, Amy Forsyth, Rarmian Newton, Ted Sutherland, Casey Johnson, Taylor Richardson, Joe Tippett, and Shirley Rumierk.

Also keep your eye on For God and Country, which is “a fresh, heart-pounding journey into the complex world of America’s elite undercover military heroes.”

It stars Anne Hechte as D.I.A. Deputy Director Patricia Campbell, who leads a team on international, undercover missions. The Homeland vibe already has us intrigued!
