Though we won’t be seeing a Michael Scott reprieve on The Office, Ricky Gervais has announced that we will be seeing his U.K. counterpart David Brent again!

Fans of the U.K. version of The Office (the one which started it all for the hit NBC version in the United States) are surely excited to see Gervais bring back David Brent: the character that started all.

EW.com is reporting that Gervais will reprise David Brent for a special mini episode titled The Office Revisited. Gervais had this to say about the character’s return:

“It has been 10 years since we last saw David Brent. I thought it was time to revisit my most famous comedy creation to find out what he’s been up to for the last decade and most importantly what he’s up to now.”

You can check out the trailer for the trailer of The Office Revisited below. For the actual trailer, you have to head over to Gervais’ YouTube channel as embedding of the actual trailer has been disabled.

Gervais goes on to explain where David Brent is 10 years later and what we can expect from The Office Revisited:

“He is passing on his wisdom to younger would-be rock stars now and is living vicariously through a young performer, Dom Johnson. Well, really he is trying to worm his way back into rock and roll. Fans of The Office will be excited to know we finally get to hear the whole of ‘The Serpent Who Guards the Gates of Hell’ and an amazing Brent self-funded video, ‘Equality Street.’ Horrendous.”

The special episode will air on BBC One on Red Nose Day March 15th and will also be available to view on Gervais’ YouTube channel as well.

We wonder how Steve Carell will handle his character Michael Scott in 10 years. What do you see Michael Scott doing in 10 years?

Will you be tuning in to check out The Office Revisited?
