Percy Jackson author Rick Riordan has updated his fans on all of his current projects, and has also begun work on a brand new series.

In a new blog post, Rick Riordan has made sure to whet the appetites of his ravenous fans, who are always looking for more information on his various upcoming books. The good news is that there’s a lot coming our way this fall, and Riordan breaks it all down for us!

Starting off with his most anticipated project at the moment — Blood of Olympus, the last book in his Heroes of Olympus series — Riordan says it will be on time for its October 7 release date. He also says, “It’s roughly the same length as all the other volumes in Heroes of Olympus,” and warns not to “believe Internet rumors.”

“I have released no spoilers about what happens to any of the characters, and I won’t release any,” he says. “You’ll just have to wait and see what happens. There will be no cliffhangers, meaning no one will be left in imminent danger with no clear way out. But that does not mean you will know every single thing that happens to all the characters for the rest of their lives. I don’t do epilogues. I hate epilogues. It’s like nailing the coffin shut on the story, allowing for no further growth and leaving no room for the readers’ imaginations.”

And that’s good news for Percy Jackson fans. While Riordan has said this is definitely the end of the Heroes of Olympus arc, not doing an epilogue allows him to revisit these characters in the future if he so desires. For now, however, he’s stating that it’s “too soon to say” if there will be more Percy Jackson novels.

But that doesn’t mean Riordan has stopped writing. On the contrary, he’s finally begun work on his brand new Norse mythology series. Details are light at the moment, but we do know this story will take place in Boston.

The first book in this currently untitled series will be due out in the fall of 2015. In what might be the most exciting news in Riordan’s entire update, however, is that he’s said, “You will find out the title of the first book (and some hints about the main character) at the end of The Blood of Olympus.”

Among other news, Riordan has also said The Lost Hero graphic novel will be out on October 7; the Percy Jackson’s Greek Gods book is a behemoth coffee-table-sized edition full of beautiful color illustrations; he’s working on the third crossover story, which will feature Annabeth, Percy, Sadie, and Carter; and he will once again be going on a book tour for The Blood of Olympus, which will hit nine cities beginning October 7.

And, finally, Riordan revealed on Tumblr that a fan-created piece of art for Blood of Olympus was licensed by Disney and will be appearing as a poster in the Wal-Mart edition of the book. Riordan promises more information on this and other exclusive editions soon. You can see the poster below.
